Day 9--Because the pups still aren't doing much different at this point--sleep, eat, pee, poop; I thought I would use today's blog post to feature their daddy Gage.

Gage was one of twelve puppies from a litter we had in December 2005. There were six girls and six boys; he is the smallest one the second from the end of the boys sled. The girls didn't fit so their picture was separate.
We had no intention of keeping a puppy from this litter but circumstances happened that Gage ended up remaining with us. We always felt it was meant to be, hence his registered name of Kingdom's Twist of Fate. He has been very special to me and is wrapped right around my heart. Pictured here at 10 weeks.
Gage was fun to show and finished his AKC championship rather early in his life. This picture was taken the weekend he became an AKC champion going Best of Breed and a Group winner as well. He went on later to earn his UKC championship.
Those were all fun things but Gage's claim to fame was his pet therapy work. He started visiting an assisted living home at just six weeks of age. We visited the home on a weekly basis and he was very much loved by his old people. Gage often arrived in costumes that brought great joy and a lot of laughter. Here are just two; one as Goldy Locks and one as Elvis.

Pictured here with some of the folks that looked forward to his visits. Gage always seemed to know who needed a pet.

Gage is now retired from his many years of pet therapy. Job well done buddy.

Yesterday was a Gavin day and a beautiful day outside so we were outside a good deal and I didn't get a lot of pictures taken of the pups. Here are two that made me smile.

Nap time. Notice the pup in blue and the one in yellow. That is Otto and Sparrow, the largest and smallest. Otto is now a pound and a quarter and Sparrow 15 oz.
This isn't something you often see with a litter. They tend to all curl up to sleep together or at least pair up with one or two others. I was surprised to look in and see that they were spread out all over the entire pen. Two were sleeping under the pig rail at the front of the pen so they didn't get in the picture. They are very strong and maneuver around the entire pen and I am often hunting for one of the other. They all seem to have no trouble finding Mom when they are hungry.
Holly came and trimmed toe nails again. Hope says, "thanks, those things are sharp".
