Day 47--Puppy Party
A bonding moment between Flash/Otto and his new best friend Dave. I'm not sure who loves who the most. These two are a joy to watch together. Dave has so many plans with this handsome little dog. One plan is for Flash to become Dave's new partner as they teach school children about fire safety and how to STOP-DROP and ROLL.

The Puppy Culture program teaches about having a puppy party on week six,  that is exactly what we did yesterday. We were blessed with a magnificent weather day and had a nice picnic here on the mountain. What fun for me to sit back and watch as our Kingdom Kidz were admired, loved on and later learned some new things. I almost got so busy watching the fun to take pictures but I did get some and want to share them here.
Everyone brought food to share and everything was wonderful, except for a mishap with a beautiful tray of fresh fruit that ended up in the grass. OOPS! Oh well, party on.
After lunch and a nap for the puppies new challenges for the Kidz were set up around the yard for them to try out. For many of the puppies it was the first experience even being in the grass. I thought they did great.
I gave each person a leash and had them get the puppies out for a little leash training. For the first time on a leash I thought the Kidz did wonderful. How cute to see eleven puppies all walking on a leash.
One challenge was walking on a new surface. A crinkly sounding tarp was placed on the ground for them to try. Not a problem, they all thought that was great fun and then decided to chew on it.
Here is Rose learning OVER. I gave everyone small pieces of boiled chicken in case someone needed incentive.
At the end of training it was time to sleep so they could process all they had learned. Here is Otto/Flash as he dreams about the day. I think this is called Dog Tired.
At the end of the day each person grabbed a puppy to get them all carried back to the house. You may think they then slept for the rest of the evening, uh, guess again. They just rested long enough to charge their little batteries and were up playing again.
A big thank you to all that came to make this a special day in the lives of these puppies.
